Farmhouse Rugs

A farmhouse rug has a relaxed, vintage style look in neutral colours such as cream, grey and brown, often with a muted pattern. It suits rustic and country style rooms.

It works in living rooms, kitchens, entryways and bedrooms. A runner suits a hallway or galley kitchen, and a larger rug suits a living room with wood furniture.

Choose a rug at least 24 inches larger than the table on every side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. A 4 by 6 foot table usually needs an 8x10. Size names are rounded, so check the actual size shown under Size on each rug.

Wood, black metal, linen and woven baskets work well. Keep the colours neutral and calm, and let the rug supply the pattern.
